During the 2020 pandemic, Matt Polansky relocated from San Antonio; leaving behind his home studio. Now relocated in Houston, the country musician set about making new music with limited space, contact, and gear. Mixtape is the product of these bedroom recording sessions.

This collection features collaborations between longtime friends, removed by the pandemic. The whole album features Rob Zolla’s masterful work with guitar and steel; blanketing lonesome tones over raw, acoustic guitar. Honkytonk tunes, waltzes, mellow beach songs, and ambient music are all present; making an eclectic group of songs recorded in a small upstairs room.
